Mark Krayenhoff is a registered architect in the State of New York. He
earned his degrees in Environmental Studies and Architecture in Canada. In 1992 he received the Raymor Medal after winning first place in the registration examinations of the Ontario Association of Architects. He worked as an architect in
Canada for 15 years before moving to New York City in 1998.
Mark’s
New York clients have been diverse, ranging from discreet Upper East Side
private schools to a rock star. He was the architect for the
Louis Armstrong House Museum, where he worked with an exhibition designer and a
conservation consultant to restore and preserve Armstrong’s flamboyant
interiors from the 60s and early 70s.
More recently he was the
architect for the sleek new Mitchell-Innes &
Nash Gallery in Chelsea. He is currently working on a 3000 square
foot studio renovation for a blue-chip artist, a two-story penthouse for
the CEO of a cutting-edge flavored water brand, and a private art pavilion
for the Connecticut home of a prominent New York
collector.
Mark has completed two projects under his own name.
Printed Matter, the artists’ bookstore in Chelsea,
is a low-budget and fiercely innovative interior using computer-milled
fluorescent plexiglass counters and pegboard made of steel. And the Ultra Hair Salon
, on the Lower East Side, is a glittering white and silver
galaxy of light manufactured from low-cost plastic security
mirrors. |
